There are few challenges more daunting than matching the color, grain, and finish of a missing part. And, if this is not enough, when replacing finials, one must also consider style would have been appropriate for the clock.
Oh, and one must also give some thought as to the best wood to use to emulate the missing piece.
All of this ran through my mind as I looked at the bottom part of the finials for clock 245.
