VR-636 A Miniature Masterpiece
The term "Masterpiece" is thrown around rather liberally any more, but there was a time that it represented the work that qualified a person to use the title of master of his craft. I believe this piece is a true masterpiece. The mechanism is only 4.25 inches long, just over 2 inches wide at the widest, and runs for a week on a weight that weighs less than a pound with only 15 inches of drop. It uses a continuous rope for its drive, with a counter weight to keep the line tight. Heck, the counter weight deducts from the drive weight - this little gem runs on very little weight and drives a pendulum that weighs just over 2 pounds!
