The winding drum is unusual in that the click gear is recessed in a cavity on the drum - which makes for a very clean and compact winding drum, but also makes it impossible to let the drum down by lifting the click. But, given the number of times I have seen the weight chord cut by either the screws holding the click spring in place on the winding drum gear, or by the click itself - seems not being able to let the weight down is a small challenge compared to the benefits.
