VR-238 An Amazing Miniature

I sometimes mention how much I look forward to working on special mechanisms. This one is a prime example. The drop on this little gem is only 6 inches - and it runs a week. So, as a student commented "it is a month runner with a really short drop". Smart lad that. It is amazing that the maker achieved the duration with only the normal number of gears - but a 1/4 inch winding drum. And, as with all Viennese mechanisms, the quality of the work is phenomenal. And, I even had a chance to fit a new screw or two!

I also included a shot of someone elses' repair to the hour hand. It is phenomenally well done!
