Payment and shipping
Payment, Packing, Shipping and Insurance
Steve is meticulous in preparing the clocks and packing for shipment. As a result, problems in delivery or un-fulfilled customer expectations are rare. Steve will usually speak with and exchange several e-mails with you prior to closing the deal, and this will include discussions about shipping time frames and requirements. Buying an antique vienna regulator from Stephen is not like your typical on-line shopping -- you won't get overnight delivery and instant satisfaction. What you will get is an awesome, one-of-a-kind clock that is as-described and a good fit for you. Our customer's describe their clock as 'even better than expected'. Read the details below on payment, shipping and packing.
PAYMENT
Note: Clocks are serviced, prepared for shipment and packed in the order in which payment is received. Please be patient. Case and mechanism conservation takes time. And, given that Steve does virtually all of the work himself, things do not happen quickly. Delivery times vary and will be discussed at the time of purchase.
All payment must be in US Dollars. PayPal is the fastest payment option. I accept PayPal payments with the understanding that PayPal charges me a 3 percent fee for monies received via PayPal, so I will, in turn charge 3 percent on sales via PayPal. My PayPal account is snclocks@sbcglobal.net.
PayPal payments and money orders will be treated as cash, placing the clocks in the queue for packing and shipment.
Checks are accepted, however shipment will be at least 10 days after receipt of payment to allow confirmation of bank clearance. Wire transfers are also acceptable, though there is a $20 fee to compensate for banking charges. Please ask for details if you wish to pay by this means.
All payment must be sent within 5 days after your receipt of the invoice. If I do not receive payment within 21 days after the postmark date on the invoice I will consider the deal void and offer the clocks to other buyers.
SHIPPING
Charges for packing, handling, shipping, and insurance Within the Continental United States are as follows for each clock:
1. Insurance (required for all clocks) = $1.00/$100 value.
2. Packing, Shipping and Handling cost per clock as follows:
Dwarf and smaller-size clocks up to 40" in length = $100
Standard wall clocks up to 50" in length = $120
Large wall clocks up to 60" in length = estimated at $170
Large wall clocks over 60" in length = estimated at $220
Floor-standing clocks = estimated at $400
Clocks with a combined dimension when packed (L+2H+2W) of over 165"--I will work individually with the buyers of these clocks to determine the best shipping option.
Shipment will typically be via FedEx ground service. I find this to be the safest option, for clocks under roughly 60 inches length. I will work with you for delivery of larger pieces: I have had great luck using Yellow Freight for large wall clocks and floor-standing pieces.
If you pick up your clock in Oklahoma the Oklahoma Sales Tax will be due unless you hold a current resale tax permit.
Shipments outside the Continental United States will be individually arranged with the buyer.
All items will be shipped as soon as possible after receipt of payment -- according to the schedule discussed with you.
RETURN OF CLOCKS
If you receive a clock that was not properly described on this site, I will send you a complete refund (including shipping costs) if you comply with the following. You must send me your reason for dissatisfaction within 5 days after receiving the lot. You must also return the piece to me in the original packing (or equivalent) by insured shipment. Be sure to save all packaging materials for reshipment.
DAMAGED SHIPMENTS
I place great emphasis on careful packing, using a lot of padding and Styrofoam peanuts. This care has held shipping damage to a minimum. However, if you receive a lot that has been damaged by the carrier in transit, I ask you to follow the following instructions carefully.
1. Note any damage to the outside of the packing box on arrival. Photos, especially digital photos really help if there is a problem.
2. Notify me immediately on receipt and no later than 5 days after receipt of the lot.
3. Describe the damage in detail.
4. Keep the entire package and its contents intact and in your possession for shipping-company inspection.
This will enable us to comply with shippers claim regulations regarding damage to insured shipments. Since inspection must be made at the destination point do not, under any circumstances, ship the lot back to me without my authorization.
Shipment without authorization will void any responsibility I may have for shipping damage. Don’t get me wrong, I am very concerned about any damage, but I will need your help to make sure we are successful in collecting insurance to cover damages. Fortunately (knock on wood) to date I believe we have had to file only 1 claim!
