VR-633 Exquisite Viennese Timepiece
When I look at a clock I find that specific characteristics leap out at me. This clock's perfect veneer - gads, just look at the base and the close-ups in this gallery - and the patina really speak to me. You just can't fake a century and a half of patina.
The other thing that struck me when I first looked at this piece was how complete it is. OK, missing a small bit of carved trim to the trim at the top left of the door (which will be replaced before it leaves for its new home), but other than that, a very complete and original piece.
Note the ripple trim above the door - such a lovely touch, and the perfect hands, pie-crust bezel, tail-piece honoring Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina, the "Mother" of the Habsburg empire, and therefore of Austria.
Dimensions - 46 x 12.25 x 5.75 inches, width and depth are measured at the top of the clock.
After being cleaned up this clock could be hanging on your wall, including delivery, for $5,000.
