I often find that I also need to put some time into polishing the top caps for the weights. Usually the easiest way to do this is to secure a screw in the hole in the center, and then spin the cap on the lathe while polishing. Unfortunately my Stronghold chuck will only hold things that are at least a quarter inch in diameter. Hence the next shot – I have found that using a collet holder allows me to safely and effectively use a jewelers lathe 3 jaw chuck to hold smaller items.
